What is
Internet Content Management?

Internet content management (also known as URL filtering) uses a program to screen Web pages that are deemed objectionable and exclude access to them. Content filtering usually works by specifying character strings that, if matched, indicate undesirable content that is to be screened out. Content is typically screened for pornographic content as well as violence- or hate-oriented content. Content management products can be divided into Web filtering, the screening of Web sites or pages, and email filtering, the screening of email for spam or other objectionable content.
